We’re looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join Anaplan’s Platform Infrastructure Team, where you will be responsible for managing the Public Cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure that underpins Anaplan’s SaaS product offerings. The role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, where you’ll contribute to business growth with direct impact on platform reliability, developer experience, and cost efficiency. Candidates will have previous experience working in high-performing DevOps teams supporting production environments and have a passion for technology and developing new skills. Anaplan operates across a broad technical stack, including all three major public cloud providers, an OpenStack private cloud and Kubernetes for orchestrating our micro-services application architecture. We use Terraform extensively for infrastructure as code, Grafana and OpenTelemetry for observability and a suite of automation tools common to DevOps teams. This is a Hybrid working role at our York or Manchester location and will report directly to the Engineering Management team. Your Impact
- Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters and in-cluster services
- Design and implement new services and functionality to enhance developer experience, improve platform reliability and optimise costs
- Troubleshoot and lead the resolution of production impacting issues, typically when the issue is complex and requires in-depth investigation
- Identify opportunities for innovation or to eliminate toil through the adoption of new technologies, operational improvements and automation
- Provide technical leadership across infrastructure projects, coach junior engineers and help define best practices for architecture / ways of working
- Collaboration with business stakeholders across infrastructure teams, software engineering, infrastructure security and FinOps
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Certification (minimum associate level) in AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure
- Extensive experience of managing and supporting production infrastructure in the Public Cloud
- Operational experience with Kubernetes in a production environment
- Prior experience in unix/linux system administration
- Proficiency with IaC tooling, such as Terraform and working with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working within an Agile framework
- Experience with Observability tooling such as Grafana
- Prior experience of automation with Ansible
- Software development skills with Python or Go
- Experience with Private Cloud infrastructure on VMWare or OpenStack
- Previous experience working with Kubernetes Ingress controllers
