Our client, a leading Microsoft partner, is expanding their support team and seeking an experienced Business Central BAU Consultant to join a dynamic and innovative environment. This senior functional role acts as the highest escalation point for complex Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central issues, working closely with developers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver secure, robust, and high-quality solutions. You will also mentor and upskill the wider support team.

Business Central BAU Consultant Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the escalation point for complex Business Central issues from 1st and 2nd Line Support.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis to provide sustainable resolutions.
  • Lead major incidents (P1), managing diagnosis, resolution, and post-incident reviews.
  • Deliver consultancy for small BAU projects, configuration changes, minor functionality development, and customer enhancements.
  • Engage with customers to gather, analyse, and document technical and functional requirements.
  • Propose and validate solutions aligned with best practice, internal standards, and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers and third-party vendors to clarify requirements, validate solutions, and track resolutions.
  • Contribute to continuous system, process, and service improvements.
  • Produce high-quality documentation, knowledge articles, and handover materials.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to enhance support team capability.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational security, data protection, and regulatory standards.

Business Central BAU Consultant Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Strong knowledge of Business Central functionality, architecture, configuration, and extensibility.
  • Experience with AL, extensions, integrations, and APIs in a support/enhancement context.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, troubleshooting methodologies, and diagnostics.
  • Strong customer communication, stakeholder management, and consultancy skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and during major incidents.
