Location: Hybrid / Remote must be able to travel to the Midlands on occasion
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Job Type: Permanent

About the Role

We are working with an established and growing technology-focused business that is looking to appoint an Internal Systems Project Consultant to help drive improvements across its internal systems, processes and technology.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining business analysis, project coordination, systems improvement, functional testing, stakeholder engagement and emerging AI technology.

You will work closely with senior management to understand business requirements, investigate problems, identify practical solutions and take improvements through to implementation and adoption.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems rather than simply identifying them, and who wants to play a key role in improving how a business operates through technology, automation and AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate business requirements, existing processes and user needs to understand the underlying problems and desired outcomes.
  • Translate business requirements into practical system and process improvements.
  • Evaluate potential solutions and make recommendations based on evidence and business requirements.
  • Take ownership of smaller projects from initial brief through to implementation, testing and review.
  • Conduct functional testing, including creating test scenarios, acceptance criteria, recording bugs and validating solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure proposed solutions meet the needs of the business.
  • Work closely with developers and technical specialists, asking the right questions and challenging assumptions where appropriate.
  • Review technical and AI-generated information for accuracy, completeness and suitability.
  • Help introduce and embed automation and AI-enabled solutions into business processes.
  • Monitor implementation and adoption, gathering feedback and recommending further improvements where required.
  • Maintain project plans, action logs, progress records, milestones and risk registers.
  • Coordinate internal resources and provide regular project updates.
  • Produce clear documentation, including requirements, process maps, user guides, test evidence and training materials.
  • Provide support to senior management with the coordination of priorities, actions and deadlines.
  • Ensure relevant project and business systems are kept accurate and up to date.

About You

  • We are looking for a proactive, organised and solution-focused individual who enjoys taking ownership and seeing projects through to completion.
  • You will be comfortable working across both business and technology, with the ability to understand technical concepts without necessarily being a developer.
  • You should be confident dealing with different stakeholders, asking challenging questions when necessary and translating technical information into something clear and understandable for users.
  • You will also need to be comfortable managing several priorities at once while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

Essential Experience

  • Experience of understanding business processes and translating requirements into practical system or process improvements.
  • Experience independently delivering smaller projects from initial objective through to implementation and review.
  • Strong hands-on functional testing experience, including test scenarios, acceptance criteria, bug recording and validation.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions or workshops.
  • Experience working with developers and/or technical specialists.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • A practical, problem-solving approach with the ability to investigate root causes and identify solutions.

Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous: Business Analyst, Business Systems Consultant, Functional Consultant, Systems Project Consultant, Project Coordinator / Project Manager, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft Power Platform, Workflow automation, Artificial Intelligence / AI-enabled business solutions

Why Join?
