Lead Technical Support Analyst

Job summary

You will be part of the Software Development team within the Digital, Data and Technology directorate and will have a range of technical responsibilities, working collaboratively within small multidisciplinary teams.

The Lead Technical Support Analyst is a new position and presents an exciting opportunity for the person with the right skills, experience and aptitude to shape this role.

This is an office-based position in South Wales. Flexible working options can be discussed in line with the Health Board's flexible working policy.

Main duties of the job

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead and manage the technical support team to ensure timely and effective resolution of software application issues.

  • Oversee daily operations and provide advanced troubleshooting for software application issues, both functional and non-functional.

  • Manage deployment processes, release management, change control, environment and configuration management.

  • Develop and implement best practices to enhance team performance and support processes.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer service excellence.

  • Lead on work within area of remit, collaborating with colleagues in Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) and other stakeholders.

Key technologies include:

  • Supporting applications written using C# within the .NET framework using .Net Core, ASP.Net Web API and MVC.

  • TSQL and application development using Microsoft SQL Server

  • Team Foundation Server / Azure DevOps

  • HL7 V2 messaging standards

  • FHIR messaging standards
