About the Role: Water and our natural environment are the foundation of life, society and economies. The East of England has unique rivers, wetlands and coastlines, yet it is classified as severely water stressed and faces drought and a degrading natural environment. This is due to a combination of a growing economy, the highest rate of new housing development in the UK, climate change and being a major agricultural producer. Anglian Water have an ambitious capital investment programme that will provide safe and resilient water supplies, permit sustainable growth, provide climate change resilience, and protect and improve the natural environment. Key Responsibilities: As a Graduate Application Analyst in the Applications Team, you’ll be part of the wider Digital, Data & Innovation (DDI) Team — a diverse group of specialists working together to drive digital transformation across the business. Working closely with experienced service designers, application developers, business stakeholders, and other delivery teams, you will learn how to apply human-centred design methods, support research and prototyping, and contribute to shaping end-to-end service experiences. Joining the Application team means you’ll learn by doing. From day one, you’ll be building tools, shaping services, and exploring how AI can make work smarter and more efficient. It’s a mix of technical skills, design thinking, and collaboration, the kind of experience that sets you up for a successful career. This role in application development will help you build your capability and confidence embarking on a career in service design and software development. What We’re Looking For:
- A 2:1 (or predicted) Degree (or equivalent experience) in Service Design, Design Thinking, Human-Centred Design, UX, Interaction Design, or a related field.
- Awareness of design methods such as journey mapping, prototyping, and user research are desirable. Any exposure to Agile development is desirable.
- Familiarity with low code software development and AI tools are desirable but not essential. A real interest in learning these skills is essential
- Ability to think creatively and generate design ideas that respond to user needs.
- Visual communication skills (e.g. creating maps, diagrams, or storyboards).
