Location: Within 90 minutes commute of London
Work type: Remote with occasional travel to offices
Salary: £90,000 OTE – £80,000 basic + £10,000 bonus
Overview
We are seeking a commercially driven Finance Director to lead and develop our finance function during an exciting period of growth.
We are a technology scale-up looking for an ambitious finance leader to join our team. We have offices Internationally.
You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, taking ownership of financial operations while progressively shaping the long-term financial strategy of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to the CEO and SLT
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting cycles
- Develop and manage cash flow forecasting across multiple entities
- Conduct risk management and oversee cash collection processes
- Deliver detailed profit and cost analysis by business unit, client, and opportunity
- Support commercial decision-making, including reviewing contracts and pricing
- Evaluate project performance through pre- and post-project analysis
- Identify and implement cost optimisation initiatives
- Assess investment opportunities and support strategic growth decisions
- Advise on funding options and financial planning
- Oversee and mitigate company risk by ensuring appropriate and comprehensive insurance coverage is in place
- Lead, coach, and develop the Finance team, building a high-performance culture
- Manage relationships with external accounting partners (UK and international)
- Establish and enhance financial controls, governance, and reporting processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and audit requirements across jurisdictions
- Stay current with financial regulations and best practices
Requirements & Skills
- Proven experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance or senior finance leader ready to step up
- Strong track record of developing teams and improving finance functions
- Experience in SMEs or service-based businesses
- Ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making
- Strong technical expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills
- Commercial mindset with a proactive, solution-focused approach
- Exposure to multi-entity or international operations
- Knowledge of transfer pricing or cross-border tax is advantageous
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA required)
- MSc/MBA is a plus
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel when required
