ICT Commissioning Support Lead - FPSO Project

Job Purpose:

The ICT Commissioning Support Lead is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of ICT and SAS commissioning activities for the FPSO project. The role ensures that ICT systems are fully prepared for commissioning, tested in accordance with project requirements, and handed over safely and efficiently. The position also oversees contractor activities, supports commissioning documentation, and ensures compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate ICT/SAS commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the ICT Commissioning team and provide technical guidance during commissioning and start-up.
  • Review and monitor ICT engineering deliverables, commissioning documentation, FAT, SAT, and vendor commissioning procedures.
  • Ensure commissioning data and system definitions are correctly implemented in the project completion management system (PIMS).
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure ICT commissioning activities comply with project specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Review ICT design documents and provide technical comments to support successful commissioning and system integration.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, FAT, SAT, inspections, and commissioning meetings.
  • Coordinate with project disciplines, operations teams, vendors, and client representatives to resolve technical issues and ensure readiness for commissioning.
  • Ensure work packs and commissioning procedures are complete and suitable for execution.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks or delays, and report issues to the Commissioning Manager while supporting timely resolution.
  • Support system completion, testing, start-up, and final handover of ICT systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information & Communication Technology, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. A Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in ICT, SAS, or Industrial Control Systems within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proven experience as an ICT/SAS Discipline Lead or Commissioning Lead on major offshore projects, preferably FPSO projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, FAT, SAT, system completion, and project completion management systems (PIMS).
  • Experience with FPSO newbuild, redeployment, offshore facilities, or modification projects is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with ICT infrastructure, telecommunications, industrial networks, and Safety Automation Systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Previous experience working in international shipyards, particularly in the Middle East or Southeast Asia, is an advantage.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
