Role Overview
We are seeking a High Integrity Software Engineer to support the development of safety-critical systems within a regulated environment. The role involves working across the full software life cycle, delivering robust and compliant solutions aligned with industry safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support high integrity/safety-critical software systems using structured engineering approaches.
- Apply industry standards such as DO-178, IEC 61508, or EN50128 within the software development life cycle (V-model).
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, contributing to a strong team environment and high-quality delivery.
- Ensure a methodical, detail-oriented approach to design, development, and validation activities.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in safety-critical or high integrity software projects.
- Strong understanding of functional safety standards and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with relevant programming languages, tools, and development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, organisation, and ability to prioritise workload.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
Desirable Skills
- Degree in Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with Ada, SPARK, static analysis, or formal methods.
- Background in sectors such as defence, aerospace, transport, rail, or automotive.
- Professional accreditation (eg, Chartered Engineer, IEEE, or BCS membership).
