Back End Developer

Back End Developer - Up to 70k

I’m working with an innovative technology company operating in the sustainability and energy space, building cutting-edge platforms that help global organisations reduce their environmental impact and hit carbon reduction targets.

They’re now looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join their team and help scale a real-time, cloud-native IoT platform used by enterprise clients worldwide.

🔧 What you’ll be doing:

• Building and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs
• Designing high-performance systems to process real-time IoT data streams
• Developing event-driven and asynchronous processing components
• Contributing to architecture decisions across a multi-cloud environment
• Working closely with product, DevOps, and data teams to deliver robust solutions
• Driving best practices across code quality, testing, and CI/CD

🧠 What they’re looking for:

• 4+ years’ experience in backend development
• Strong Java experience (core Java essential)
• Experience building production-grade, scalable systems
• Solid understanding of concurrency and distributed systems
• Experience designing RESTful APIs

Nice to have:

• Spring / Spring Boot
• AWS / Azure
• Docker / Kubernetes
• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, ArgoCD)
