We're looking for an experienced AWS Solution Architect to join a leading digital consultancy working on large-scale cloud transformation projects across the public sector and defence industries. This is a high-impact role where you'll work closely with clients to define cloud adoption strategies, design AWS-native architectures, and guide complex migration programmes.

You'll play a key part in shaping the cloud journey for clients that make a tangible impact on the UK's national security and critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

As an AWS Solution Architect, you will:

  • Lead on technical design and migration enablement projects.
  • Define and document AWS architectures (baseline, target, roadmaps, patterns, standards, and reference architectures).
  • Work with development teams to ensure common standards and re-usable migration patterns.
  • Endorse and maintain infrastructure-as-code approaches for automated, repeatable deployments.
  • Conduct architectural reviews and provide assurance on AWS solutions.
  • Act as an escalation point for engineering teams, supporting troubleshooting and incident resolution.
  • Drive the adoption of automation and best practices across the platform.
  • Support, mentor and coach engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience in AWS architecture and cloud migration, ideally in large, multi-account environments.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing cloud reference architectures and patterns.
  • Solid understanding of AWS security services, networking, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native automation tools.
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving collaboration across teams.

What's on offer

  • Competitive salary plus company bonus scheme.
  • Flexible hybrid working model.
  • 25 days holiday (with options to buy/sell).
  • Private medical and dental insurance, pension scheme, cycle-to-work, and other flexible benefits.
  • Opportunities for rapid career development and working on critical projects that have a real-world impact.
