This role sits within their Digital & Data capability, focused on cloud engineering at scale. It is not a narrow DevOps position. It combines architecture, hands-on engineering, client engagement, and technical leadership. You will be shaping solutions, influencing stakeholders, and delivering production-grade systems on Google Cloud.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and delivering scalable, secure cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform
- Leading architectural decisions across complex programmes
- Embedding DevSecOps practices and building robust delivery pipelines
- Acting as a key technical interface with clients, translating requirements into solutions
- Leading or mentoring engineering teams, setting standards and direction
- Contributing to bids and proposals, shaping technical solutions for new work
- Supporting multi-team programmes with deep cloud expertise
Ideal Background
- Strong experience in GCP, with deep expertise across core services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, and IAM
- Solid grounding in cloud architecture, including microservices and event-driven design
- Experience with Kubernetes and container-based systems
- Hands-on DevOps experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Cloud Build)
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, Node.js, Bash)
- Strong understanding of security principles in cloud environments
- Experience working in consulting or client-facing delivery environments
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
