Salary: £80,000 – £100,000 + bonus and benefits

About the Role

Our client is a global innovation and transformation consultancy, operating at the intersection of strategy, technology, and engineering. They work across multiple sectors, helping organisations solve complex problems and deliver meaningful, real-world outcomes.

This role sits within their Digital & Data capability, focused on cloud engineering at scale. It is not a narrow DevOps position. It combines architecture, hands-on engineering, client engagement, and technical leadership. You will be shaping solutions, influencing stakeholders, and delivering production-grade systems on Google Cloud.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and delivering scalable, secure cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform
  • Leading architectural decisions across complex programmes
  • Embedding DevSecOps practices and building robust delivery pipelines
  • Acting as a key technical interface with clients, translating requirements into solutions
  • Leading or mentoring engineering teams, setting standards and direction
  • Contributing to bids and proposals, shaping technical solutions for new work
  • Supporting multi-team programmes with deep cloud expertise

Ideal Background

  • Strong experience in GCP, with deep expertise across core services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, and IAM
  • Solid grounding in cloud architecture, including microservices and event-driven design
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container-based systems
  • Hands-on DevOps experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Cloud Build)
  • Programming or scripting experience (Python, Node.js, Bash)
  • Strong understanding of security principles in cloud environments
  • Experience working in consulting or client-facing delivery environments
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What You’ll Receive

  • £80,000 – £100,000 base salary plus performance bonus
  • Hybrid working model (typically 2 days on client site or office)
  • Access to a broad range of projects across multiple industries
  • Structured learning environment with funded certifications and training
  • Clear technical career progression without needing to move into people management
  • Strong internal engineering and knowledge-sharing culture

Who Should Apply

  • Senior engineers ready to step into principal-level influence and ownership
  • Cloud specialists who want to combine hands-on engineering with architecture
  • Individuals comfortable operating in client-facing, consulting environments
  • Engineers who want variety in projects rather than long-term single-product ownership
