Cloud Engineer (Multiple Levels)

Salary: £45,000 – £70,000 + bonus

Overview

We are looking for talented Cloud Engineers to join a growing team delivering secure, high-impact solutions within the UK public sector and national security space.

You will work on modern cloud platforms, building and supporting systems that operate in complex, mission-critical environments. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while developing your skills in a collaborative, engineering-led environment.

Opportunities are available across multiple levels, from mid-level through to senior engineers.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure cloud-based solutions (primarily AWS)
• Work within agile DevOps teams across the full delivery lifecycle
• Develop, deploy, and support scalable applications and services
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technology selection
• Continuously improve systems through automation, monitoring, and optimisation

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with AWS services (e.g. EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
• Proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g. Python, Bash)
• Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
• Familiarity with Agile/DevOps environments
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Desirable Experience

• AWS certifications (Associate level or above)
• Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS)
• CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity)
• Microservices and API design
• Monitoring, observability, and cloud cost optimisation (FinOps)
• Knowledge of Linux, networking, and security principles
