Are you an experienced Cloud Engineer passionate about building secure, scalable cloud solutions using AWS? This is an opportunity to join a leading technology organisation delivering mission-critical systems that support national security and help protect the UK.

Working as part of empowered DevOps teams, you'll design, develop, deploy and maintain cloud-based applications and services, collaborating with engineers and end users to solve complex technical challenges.

The Role

As a Cloud Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting cloud adoption journeys by designing and implementing AWS solutions across complex environments. You'll work across the full delivery lifecycle, applying DevOps principles and helping teams adopt modern engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, develop and maintain secure cloud solutions using AWS.

•Build and support applications and services across AWS environments.

•Work within agile DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

•Apply Infrastructure as Code practices using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK.

•Develop automation and scripting solutions using Python, Bash or Shell.

•Work with AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS and IAM.

•Support continuous integration and delivery using modern CI/CD tooling.

•Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and identify innovative solutions.

•Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders and end users throughout the development lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

•Strong commercial experience working with AWS cloud technologies.

•Experience designing and implementing cloud solutions to solve complex business challenges.

•Strong understanding of AWS services and cloud architecture principles.

•Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK.

•Programming or scripting experience with Python, Bash or Shell.

•Experience using version control systems such as Git.

•Understanding of DevOps practices and agile delivery methodologies.

•Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn new technologies.

Desirable Experience

•AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Developer or DevOps Associate.

•Experience with microservices and API design.

•Knowledge of containers and orchestration platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, EKS or ECS.

•Experience with monitoring, observability and FinOps practices within AWS.

•Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity or Bitbucket.

•Understanding of Linux, networking, routing and firewalls.
