This role sits within a specialist digital consultancy delivering data‐driven solutions across the UK public sector. You will work on high‐impact projects that improve public services, applying advanced analytical techniques while supporting and mentoring junior team members.

Key Requirements: • Security Clearance eligibility (SC) is essential • Hybrid working, typically 2–3 days per week on client site • Strong Python skills, including experience with data analysis, modelling and automation • Experience working within or alongside public‐sector organisations is highly desirable

What You’ll Do: • Deliver end‐to‐end data science solutions across discovery, alpha, beta and live phases • Build, test and deploy analytical models, statistical approaches and data pipelines • Work with large, complex datasets to generate insights that inform policy and service design • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including product managers, researchers and engineers • Present findings to technical and non‐technical stakeholders • Lead by example, providing guidance, coaching and mentoring to junior data scientists • Ensure all work aligns with GDS standards, data governance and ethical guidelines

What You’ll Bring: • Proven experience as a data scientist in complex or public‐sector environments • Strong proficiency in Python and common data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Sci‐Kit Learn, etc.) • Experience with data visualisation tools and techniques • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively • Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues • Full SC‐eligibility (UK residency for 5+ years, no restrictions)
