DevOps Engineer

Manchester / Gloucester / Leeds / London (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)

£45,500 - £59,000 + bonus + 7% pension

An established UK-based technology organisation working across Defence and National Security is looking for experienced DevOps Engineers to join growing engineering teams delivering secure, large-scale cloud and infrastructure solutions.

This is a hands-on engineering role working across modern DevOps tooling and cloud platforms in highly secure environments, supporting critical national programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Work within DevOps / SRE / Infrastructure teams on secure programmes
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Work across Azure or GCP environments
• Automate tasks using Python, Bash or Shell scripting
• Support containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Collaborate in Agile delivery teams
• Contribute to platform reliability, scalability and security

Requirements

• Strong DevOps or Platform Engineering experience
• Hands-on Azure or GCP experience
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
• CI/CD pipeline experience
• Scripting experience (Python / Bash / Shell)
• Linux knowledge
• Containerisation experience (Docker, Kubernetes or similar)
• Agile delivery experience

Package

• Salary up to £59,000 depending on experience
• 2.5% bonus
• 7% pension
