Job: AWS Cloud/DevOps Engineer

Location: UK Wide / Hybrid

Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 base

Security Clearance: Active SC clearance required

Role Context

This role sits within a cloud engineering environment delivering secure, scalable AWS platforms for complex programmes across regulated and security-conscious settings. The brief is focused on engineers who can deploy, automate, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS, with the depth to support cloud-native delivery and the discipline to work within secure environments.

The requirement is flexible on level across the mid-market into more senior profiles, provided the core AWS capability is strong. This is well suited to engineers who combine hands-on platform delivery with DevOps thinking, strong infrastructure automation, and a practical understanding of resilient cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure across secure and high-availability environments
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
• Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support reliable cloud-native deployment
• Improve monitoring, observability, resilience, and operational performance across cloud platforms
• Work closely with engineering and stakeholder teams to deliver scalable platform improvements in Agile delivery settings

Candidate Profile / Technical Skillset

• Strong hands-on AWS infrastructure engineering experience in secure or regulated environments
• Active SC clearance already in place and able to work on cleared programmes
• Proven background in DevOps and platform engineering, including IaC and deployment automation
• Experience with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong scripting and troubleshooting capability across cloud environments, ideally with Python, Bash, or PowerShell
