About the Role
Our client, a global consulting firm, is looking to appoint a Technology Director to lead technology transformation across the Home Affairs and Justice sector.
This role focuses on helping major government organisations modernise their technology environments and deliver complex transformation programmes. You will work closely with departments across the Home Office, policing bodies, justice agencies, and related organisations that are undergoing large-scale digital and operational change.
The position combines business development, technology leadership, and programme oversight. You will shape and win new consulting engagements while maintaining senior involvement throughout delivery. Programmes typically include digital transformation, enterprise platform implementation, cloud adoption, and large-scale IT modernisation initiatives.
Demand across this part of the public sector continues to grow as organisations invest heavily in technology capabilities to support modern digital services, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision making.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the development and sale of technology-enabled transformation programmes within the UK public sector, particularly across Home Affairs and Justice organisations.
- Building and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships across departments including the Home Office, policing bodies, the National Crime Agency, the Ministry of Justice, HMCTS, and related organisations.
- Shaping large-scale programmes involving cloud platforms, enterprise applications, digital services, and complex IT system implementation.
- Working with partners and technical specialists to design end-to-end transformation solutions using best-of-breed technologies.
- Supporting clients to modernise technology estates, reduce operational complexity, scale services, and improve digital capabilities.
- Leading opportunities through the full lifecycle from early market engagement and opportunity shaping through to successful delivery.
- Acting as a trusted adviser to senior government stakeholders and executive leadership teams.
Ideal Background
- Demonstrated experience selling and delivering complex technology transformation programmes within the public sector.
- Established network and experience working with Home Affairs or Justice organisations such as the Home Office, policing bodies, MoJ, HMCTS, or similar agencies.
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments including areas such as:
- Cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud
- Emerging technologies such as AI and automation
- Enterprise applications including SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, and Workday
- Integration architectures including APIs, microservices, and container-based platforms
- Data and cloud ecosystems across large enterprise environments
- Experience advising CxO-level stakeholders and senior boards on technology strategy and transformation delivery.
- Proven ability to build pipeline, shape consulting propositions, and lead multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Strong knowledge of the technology vendor landscape and partner ecosystem.
- Experience across areas such as IT strategy, operating model transformation, cloud migration, enterprise architecture, and large-scale programme delivery.
What You’ll Receive
- Base Salary: Up to £150,000
- Allowance: £7,000
- Bonus: Performance-related bonus based on an internal ratings system rather than a fixed percentage.
