About the Role

Our client is expanding rapidly within its National Security division, with five Front End Developers required immediately and over 20 further hires forecast in the coming weeks. Demand is high, the interview process is one stage, and offers are being turned around within a week.

You will join empowered DevOps teams building mission-critical applications used directly by UK national security customers. This is not product maintenance work. You will design, build and own modern front-end architectures that operate in complex, secure environments where performance, accessibility and resilience matter.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and building secure, scalable front-end applications using modern JavaScript.
• Architecting front-end solutions and owning technical decisions within small, autonomous teams.
• Working closely with UX designers and product teams to deliver intuitive, accessible user experiences.
• Applying best practice around testing, linting, secure coding and CI/CD.
• Configuring and optimising bundlers such as Webpack or Rollup.
• Contributing across the full delivery lifecycle in a DevOps environment.
• Engaging directly with end users to refine and improve solutions.

Ideal Background

You should have strong experience in most of the following:

• Deep knowledge of vanilla JavaScript and modern ECMA standards.
• Experience with front-end frameworks and architecting scalable web applications.
• Strong understanding of DOM complexity, CSS, accessibility standards and ARIA.
• Experience with Jest, Jasmine or similar test frameworks and a shift-left testing mindset.
• Practical experience with Git and branching strategies aligned to continuous delivery.
• Familiarity with Node.js and API integration.
• Solid computer science fundamentals including OOP, design patterns and data structures.
• Experience configuring bundlers such as Webpack or Rollup.
• Exposure to TypeScript and responsive design principles.

You must be eligible to undergo DV clearance.
