A leading global innovation and consulting organisation is scaling its Defence & Security and Financial Services advisory capability. The firm works at the intersection of strategy, technology, and transformation, helping FTSE 100 and government clients solve complex, high-impact challenges across critical national and commercial systems.
This is a senior consulting role combining architecture leadership, delivery ownership, and business development. You will operate as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders while also shaping propositions, leading teams, and driving revenue growth across key accounts.
The environment is built around deep expertise, interdisciplinary collaboration, and end-to-end delivery - from early strategy through to implementation and operational change. You will be joining a large network of strategists, engineers, architects, and domain specialists working globally across defence, government, financial services, and regulated industries.
What you’ll be doing
Leadership, Architecture & Delivery
- Leading architecture and development teams to deliver complex, end-to-end transformation programmes.
- Defining and communicating architectural strategies across application, integration, and business domains.
- Overseeing delivery across cloud, digital, and enterprise-scale solutions in regulated environments.
- Ensuring technical solutions align with long-term client strategy and operational outcomes.
Client Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Acting as a senior advisor to FTSE 100 and public sector clients on complex transformation challenges.
- Translating technical architecture into clear business value and strategic direction.
- Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making at executive level.
- Supporting clients through large-scale change programmes across digital and technology estates.
Business Development & Growth
- Leading business development activity including shaping propositions, bids, and client pursuits.
- Driving account growth through new opportunities and expansion of existing relationships.
- Owning outcomes linked to revenue generation and commercial performance.
- Maintaining and growing senior stakeholder networks within target sectors.
Team Development & Internal Leadership
- Coaching and mentoring consultants and technical teams to build capability and performance.
- Contributing to internal knowledge sharing and capability development across the practice.
- Supporting recruitment, team shaping, and development of new service offerings.
What we’re looking for
Must have
- Proven experience leading architecture and/or development teams in complex consulting or enterprise environments.
- Strong background in technology delivery across defence, security, or regulated financial services.
- Demonstrated ability to define and communicate architecture strategies across multiple domains.
- Strong client-facing experience with senior stakeholder engagement and advisory responsibility.
- Proven track record in business development, including pre-sales, bids, and revenue generation.
- Evidence of account growth and ownership of commercial targets (ideally £450k–£500k+ annual revenue).
- Experience working within consulting environments with end-to-end delivery accountability.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as UML or ArchiMate.
- Experience across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise architecture environments.
- Exposure to digital transformation programmes involving microservices or cloud-native systems.
- Established network within defence, government, or financial services sectors.

- Base salary up to £150,000 (exceptional candidates)

You will be expected to operate across delivery, advisory, and commercial responsibilities simultaneously. Client work is often complex, politically sensitive, and high-value, requiring strong judgement, clarity of communication, and commercial awareness.
Hiring focus
This hire is targeted at experienced consulting leaders with strong delivery credibility and demonstrable business development performance. Revenue contribution and client growth capability must be clearly evidenced. CVs without quantifiable commercial impact will not progress.
