The Role – Palantir Data Engineer
The Palantir Data Engineer position is a hands-on, delivery-focused role within multi-skilled agile teams. As a Palantir Data Engineer, you will design and develop data processing and data persistence components for large-scale production systems, working closely with architects, engineers, and client stakeholders.
The Palantir Data Engineer will take responsibility for significant technical components, contribute to design decisions, and help shape engineering best practice across delivery teams. This role suits experienced engineers who enjoy operating in complex environments and influencing high-quality technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy data processing software across the full development lifecycle
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines and data persistence layers
- Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, and resilience
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to resolve complex technical challenges
- Maintain high standards of code quality, testability, and maintainability
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure operational readiness
- Advise on technical effort, delivery approach, and design implications
- Support and mentor other Palantir Data Engineers within delivery teams
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Palantir Data Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role
- Strong software development experience in Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Databricks
- Proficiency in SQL, including analytical query extensions
- Strong understanding of ETL / ELT pipelines and data engineering patterns
- Experience delivering large-scale data processing systems into production
- Experience writing testable code and implementing automated testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and modern software delivery
Desirable Experience:
- Performance tuning and optimisation
- Data visualisation and complex data transformations
- Streaming and event-driven architectures (Kafka, CDC technologies)
- Continuous improvement and contribution to data engineering best practice
