Principle AI Security Consultant
Senior AI Security Consultant – Senior Consultant to Principal Consultant
UK-wide | Hybrid | DTCS / Digital & Data
Build the AI Security advisory capability of tomorrow.
I’m working with a leading innovation and transformation consultancy that is expanding its AI Security capability across the UK.
They are looking for experienced Senior Consultants through Principal Consultants from strong cyber security consulting and advisory backgrounds.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who wants to sit at the intersection of Cyber Security, AI and Advisory — helping organisations understand how to securely adopt AI while dealing with the risks introduced by LLMs, AI applications and increasingly autonomous agentic systems.
The role
You'll work directly with clients to understand their security challenges, shape recommendations and help them navigate an area that is still evolving.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Lead AI Security and broader cyber security assessments
- Advise senior stakeholders on AI-related cyber risk
- Threat model LLM applications, AI agents and agentic workflows
- Assess risks around prompt injection, excessive agency, data leakage, insecure tool use and model supply chains
- Develop AI security strategies, governance approaches and practical control frameworks
- Design guardrails around identity, permissions, human oversight, logging and autonomous actions
- Advise organisations on secure adoption of AI across their technology estate
- Identify opportunities to safely use AI across SOC, threat detection, vulnerability management and incident response
- Shape client propositions, bids and new AI Security offerings
- Lead and mentor consultants within engagements
- Work alongside specialists across cyber, AI, data, engineering and strategy
What we're looking for
We're particularly interested in consulting and advisory profiles rather than purely hands-on AI engineering backgrounds.
You'll likely have a strong foundation in one or more areas of:
- Cyber Security Consulting
- Security Architecture
- Cyber Risk & Advisory
- Cloud Security
- Application Security
- Security Operations
- Threat Modelling
- Security Strategy / Transformation
- AI Security / AI Assurance
You'll also have a good understanding of how AI systems actually introduce security risk — whether that's through LLM applications, APIs, RAG, agents, tool use, data access or autonomous workflows.
Experience with NIST AI RMF, OWASP LLM / Agentic AI guidance, MITRE ATLAS, ISO 27001, NIST CSF or similar frameworks would be valuable.
Why now?
AI Security is still an emerging discipline, which means there is a genuine opportunity to establish yourself in the space rather than simply follow an established playbook.
You'll have access to a broad consulting community spanning Cyber, AI, Data, Engineering and Strategy, with the opportunity to work on complex client problems across sectors including Defence & Security, Financial Services, Energy, Government and other highly regulated environments.
For someone at Senior Consultant to Principal Consultant level, this is an opportunity to combine your existing cyber advisory experience with one of the fastest-developing areas of security.
If you're already advising clients on cyber security and want to build a serious specialism in AI Security, I'd be keen to speak.
