Senior Business Analyst

Location: Northampton (hybrid, 2 days per week in-office)

Salary: Up to £65,000 (depending on experience) + 20% bonus

We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join a leading payments organisation, working on a Target Operating Model (TOM) initiative that will drive transformational change across the business. This is a strategic, delivery-focused role ideal for someone who thrives on defining and implementing future-state operating models, enabling scalable and sustainable business performance.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in organisational transformation , from conducting current state assessments to designing and embedding new capabilities, team structures, and governance models. You’ll play a key role in turning strategic objectives into actionable plans and supporting the setup of new teams, processes, and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis activities across the Target Operating Model project, ensuring business needs are clearly understood and addressed through strategic solutions.
  • Conduct detailed current vs. future state analysis, capability mapping, and change impact assessments to support effective transformation.
  • Define and implement new operating models, processes, and team structures to enable successful organisational change.
  • Translate high-level strategy into practical, deliverable plans that align with business objectives.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders to gather, document, and validate requirements, ensuring alignment at all levels.
  • Support the onboarding of new team members and establish robust governance frameworks and processes.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, quality delivery in line with project goals.

Key Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years' experience in a Business Analyst role, with a strong background in strategic transformation and target operating model delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up new teams, define roles and responsibilities, and embed effective ways of working.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience influencing at all organisational levels.
  • Skilled in mapping business capabilities to organisational goals and designing effective operating models.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, actionable insights.
  • Deep understanding of both Agile (Scrum and Kanban) and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle management, API integrations, and cloud-based applications.

Desirable Experience

  • Background in financial services or the payments industry.
  • Experience with SQL for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and industry standards.
  • Understanding of modern payment technologies and platforms.
