About the Role

Our client, a consultancy delivering high-impact public sector digital projects, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a 6-month contract. This hands-on role involves building cloud-native solutions for a public sector client, working closely with the team to break down complex problems and deliver solutions efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Decomposing problems into manageable tasks and progressing work independently.
• Designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Writing clean, maintainable TypeScript/JavaScript code.
• Managing infrastructure using Terraform.
• Working with FHIR to support healthcare data standards.
• Supporting Docker and Localstack for local development and testing.

Ideal Background

• Strong AWS experience: Lambdas, Step Functions, DynamoDB.
• Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript and Terraform.
• Solid CI/CD experience, specifically GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with FHIR standards.
• Bonus: NHS experience.
• OO programming background in Java or .NET is advantageous.
• Exposure to Docker, Localstack, or OpenID Connect is a plus.

Contract Details

• 6-month fixed-term contract.
• £600/day, inside IR35.
• UK-based with flexible working; occasional client site visits may be required.
