Service Designer

Service Designer – Hybrid Working (Public Sector, SC‐Eligible )

This role sits within a specialist digital consultancy delivering user‐centred services across the UK public sector. You will help shape and improve complex services that impact millions of people, working in multidisciplinary teams and contributing to meaningful transformation.

Key Requirements:

• Security Clearance eligibility (SC) is essential due to project needs

• Experience working within or alongside public‐sector organisations

What You’ll Do:

• Lead service design activities across discovery, alpha, beta and live phases

• Map current and future‐state services, identifying opportunities for improvement

• Facilitate workshops, co‐design sessions and stakeholder engagement

• Collaborate with user researchers, business analysts, product managers and interaction designers

• Produce service blueprints, journey maps, prototypes and evidence‐based recommendations

• Ensure services align with GDS standards and wider organisational goals

What You’ll Bring:

• A strong portfolio demonstrating service design in complex environments

• Experience in UK public‐sector delivery

• Ability to translate research insights into actionable service improvements

• Confidence working with ambiguity and shaping early‐stage direction

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills

• Full SC‐eligibility (UK residency for 5+ years, no restrictions)
