Software Engineer (Java/Python) – National Security

Location: Gloucester| Hybrid

£40,000 – £60,000 (+Bonus + Security Clearance Allowance)

We're looking for Software Engineers to join a growing National Security team based in Gloucester. You'll work on cutting-edge, mission-critical projects, developing secure software solutions that have a real impact.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll help design, build and support applications used within some of the UK's most sensitive environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions

• Develop back-end applications using Java or Python

• Work with cloud technologies, with AWS preferred (Azure or GCP experience also considered)

• Write clean, secure and well-tested code

• Collaborate within Agile development teams

• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

What you’ll need?

• Commercial software development experience using Java or Python

• Experience with cloud platforms – AWS preferred, although Azure or GCP experience is welcomed

• Understanding of software engineering best practices

• Experience working within Agile environments

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Security Clearance
