We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support a major UK infrastructure programme. This role is suited to a hands-on automation specialist who can design, implement, and manage modern testing frameworks while working closely with engineering and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute comprehensive test strategies for system updates and integrations.
  • Develop and implement a test automation framework integrated with Azure DevOps.
  • Establish and maintain a centralised automation testing repository.
  • Build data-driven automated regression test suites.
  • Write and maintain automation test scripts across system layers.
  • Conduct manual testing where automation is not feasible (exception-based).
  • Ensure coverage across multiple test types

Required Experience

  • Strong experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Dataverse, API Testing, Power Automate, Azure API Management (APIM)
  • Experience setting up automation testing within CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of performance testing, security testing, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2).
  • Experience presenting automation metrics and reporting test outcomes.

  • Comprehensive test plans and supporting evidence.
  • Performance and security testing results.
  • UAT sign-off documentation.
  • Regression testing evidence.
  • Accessibility compliance reporting.
  • A test framework capable of running within Azure DevOps.
  • All test materials approved by relevant architecture, QA, and project stakeholders.

Ideal Profile

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to work with non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with IT governance and best practices.
  • Proven experience working independently as an automation test engineer within project delivery teams.
  • Experience with defect management, including triage, severity classification, and prioritisation
