We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support a major UK infrastructure programme. This role is suited to a hands-on automation specialist who can design, implement, and manage modern testing frameworks while working closely with engineering and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and execute comprehensive test strategies for system updates and integrations.
- Develop and implement a test automation framework integrated with Azure DevOps.
- Establish and maintain a centralised automation testing repository.
- Build data-driven automated regression test suites.
- Write and maintain automation test scripts across system layers.
- Conduct manual testing where automation is not feasible (exception-based).
- Ensure coverage across multiple test types
Required Experience
- Strong experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Dataverse, API Testing, Power Automate, Azure API Management (APIM)
- Experience setting up automation testing within CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of performance testing, security testing, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2).
- Experience presenting automation metrics and reporting test outcomes.

- Comprehensive test plans and supporting evidence.
- Performance and security testing results.
- UAT sign-off documentation.
- Regression testing evidence.
- Accessibility compliance reporting.
- A test framework capable of running within Azure DevOps.
- All test materials approved by relevant architecture, QA, and project stakeholders.
Ideal Profile
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to work with non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with IT governance and best practices.
- Proven experience working independently as an automation test engineer within project delivery teams.
- Experience with defect management, including triage, severity classification, and prioritisation
