System Engineer

Salary: Circa £55,000

Locations: Stevenage

Working Model: Hybrid (2-3 days per week on-site)

The Opportunity:

Take your engineering career to the next level by supporting a high-profile Air Defence programme. As part of the Platform Communications Team, you'll provide critical through-life support for the Platform Data Link Terminal (PDLT)—a key subsystem within this advanced defence system.

The Role:

As a System Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the continuous evolution of cutting-edge defence technology. Responsibilities include:

• Conducting analysis and generating reports on new technologies to enhance system capabilities

• Engaging with stakeholders and collaborating with technology specialists

• Supporting the delivery of advanced weapon systems to UK and international defence partners

• Challenging existing processes and driving improvements

Essential Skills:

To excel in this role as a System Engineer, you should have:

• Strong experience in network communications and system integration

• Proven ability in engineering product delivery and technical problem-solving

• Familiarity with defence or secure communications environments

• Hands-on experience with test and validation methodologies

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• A degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field

Desirable Skills:

While not essential, experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

• System Engineering Processes (Specification, Test & Integration)

• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML/UML (preferably Rhapsody)

• Requirements Management Tools such as DOORS

• Configuration Management Tools like Dimensions or RTC
