We're looking for a Mainframe DB2 System Specialist to join a high-performing engineering function supporting large-scale, mission-critical systems. You'll work on complex infrastructure platforms that operate at massive scale-bringing expertise, precision, and a passion for automation to keep environments resilient, secure, and future-ready.

What You'll Be Doing
Infrastructure Engineering

• Build, maintain, and optimise enterprise-grade infrastructure platforms
• Select and implement technologies that maximise performance and efficiency

Incident Management

• Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively identify issues
• Use data-driven approaches to reduce MTTR and improve reliability

Automation

• Automate repetitive tasks to reduce manual effort
• Apply scripting and coding practices to drive operational efficiency

Security

• Implement secure configurations and protect systems from vulnerabilities
• Ensure hardware, software, and data environments operate securely

Collaboration

• Work alongside engineers, architects, and product teams
• Align infrastructure decisions with wider business objectives

Continuous Learning

• Stay current with industry trends, tooling, and best practices
• Contribute to internal technology communities

What You'll Bring
Essential

• Strong experience installing, maintaining, and upgrading IBM DB2 and related tools (DB2 CA, DB2 Connect, Data Studio)
• Solid knowledge of TSO, JCL, REXX, SQL and core mainframe OS tools
• Several years of hands-on DB2 systems programming experience
• Strong understanding of performance tuning and monitoring

Highly Valued

• Experience with DevOps tooling (VS Code, Db2 Developer Extensions)
• Exposure to z/OSMF
• Familiarity with Broadcom and IBM Db2 tools
• Knowledge of Db2 internals and RACF security
