Role: Systems Engineer
Location: Bristol
Salary: Up to £55,000 (DOE)
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 2-4 days per week on-site
Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship required
The Opportunity:
Join the ground-breaking DragonFire programme as a Systems Engineer helping to develop the UK's first Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) concept demonstrator. The role offers a chance to be part of a world-class, deployable air defence system development with extensive industry and customer engagement.
What You Will Do as a Systems Engineer:

• Analyse and specify system requirements and justifications
• Lead systems proving, design assurance, and certification activities
• Support functional design with requirement flow-down to system/subsystem levels
• Collaborate with design authorities, customers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Utilize system architecting tools such as DOORS/DOORS NG and Rhapsody
• Communicate technical information clearly and support technical mediation

What We Look For:

• Experience with requirements analysis, specifications, and certification in complex systems, ideally in defence
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to build excellent collaborative relationships
• A delivery-focused mindset with adaptability to dynamic project demands
