Electronic & Embedded Software Engineer (Fixed Term)

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated multidisciplinary electronic / embedded software engineer to join our dynamic team on initially a 8-months fixed-term contract. The embedded/electronic engineer will lead the selection and the integration of commercially-available force sensors in our silicone medical simulation products. These sensors will be essential for measuring the force applied by medical devices or surgeons during procedures, thus enhancing training experiences for medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & implement a suitable solution for a sensor driven embedded system (from breadboard prototyping to PCB design and software implementation).
- Screen appropriate electronic sensors solutions from commercial sources.
- Create and implement electronic circuits for sensor functionality.
- Design and develop embedded software for sensor integration.
- Work with communication protocols to ensure seamless data transmission.
- Build simple user interfaces for data interaction.
Required:
- At least 1-2 years industrial experience in embedded software development.
- Solid knowledge of electronic & experience with electronic design principles.
- Experience with sensor technologies integration.
- PCB design & routing software (Kicad, Altium, Cadence or equivalent)
- Familiarity with communication protocols (SPI, I2C, USB)
- Low level C programming language
- Understanding of Code testing (TDD, BDD, unit test or equivalent).
- Experience with documentation
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in building simple user interfaces (phython, C++)
- Background in force sensing technology.
- GIT or some other form of version control, JIRA Automation

- Initial salary ranging from £30,000 to £45,000 per year (full-time basis) depending on experience.
