Overview

We’re looking for a capable freelance web developer to help us implement a new set of front-end templates supplied by an external agency and use them to rebuild approximately 200 existing webpages. This is a hands-on delivery role, working closely with our internal team to ensure the new pages are consistent, performant, and accurate.

This role is office-based in Cambridge, so you’ll need to be able to work on-site during the project.

What you’ll be doing:

• Implement new front-end templates and integrate them into our existing site
• Rebuild / re-create ~200 webpages based on existing content and structure
• Ensure pages are responsive and consistent across modern browsers
• Work with internal stakeholders to validate page layouts, links, and functionality
• Maintain clean, reusable code and follow existing conventions
• Fix issues and iterate quickly as feedback comes in

Required skills & experience:

• Strong HTML and CSS skills (ability to work from supplied templates/components)
• Competent PHP development experience
• Solid understanding of responsive web development and cross-browser compatibility
• Comfortable working through large batches of pages efficiently and accurately
• Good attention to detail and a practical, delivery-focused approach

Nice to have:

• JavaScript experience (vanilla and/or common front-end tooling)
• SEO basics (clean markup, redirects, metadata, structured content)
