IT Manager
We’re on the lookout for a proactive, strategic, and hands-on IT Manager to take ownership of our Clients technology operations—both at Head Office and across multiple satellite sites. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of IT within the business, ensuring robust infrastructure, seamless communication, and the smart implementation of digital tools that boost efficiency, compliance, and project delivery.
The RoleAs IT Manager, you’ll lead IT operations, supported by an IT Support Engineer, delivering 1st and 2nd line support to staff across all locations. You’ll ensure the smooth running of systems, proactively manage infrastructure, and drive forward the IT roadmap in alignment with business goals.

Key ResponsibilitiesIT Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking IT roadmap
- Identify and deliver digital transformation opportunities
- Collaborate with senior leadership to create and maintain IT policies
Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Manage network architecture, hardware, cloud services, and software
- Maintain connectivity and system uptime across office and remote sites
- Oversee mobile device deployment and rugged hardware for site teams
- Administer IP telephony, printing solutions, and data backup/DR systems
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols
- Work with external partners to maintain Cyber Essentials certification
- Ensure ongoing compliance with GDPR and industry regulations
Project Support & Integration
- Support implementation of key construction software (Deltek PIM, Autodesk, BlueBeam, InDesign, Asta PowerProject, etc.)
- Provide technical support and integration guidance across departments
Team Leadership & Vendor Management
- Lead and mentor our IT Support Engineer
- Manage external vendors and service providers
Troubleshooting & Support
- Deliver hands-on IT support and training to all staff
- Resolve issues promptly, minimising downtime across all locations
- Escalate and liaise with third parties where necessary
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven experience in IT management and support
Strong knowledge of:
- Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, Entra ID, Azure)
- Windows Server 2022, Windows 11 Pro
- Dell hardware (PowerEdge, Latitude)
- VMware, Veeam Backup
- Cybersecurity solutions (WatchGuard, Anti-malware, email/web filtering)
- IP Telephony, mobile device management, remote endpoint tools (e.g., Ninja)
- Networking, printing, cloud computing
