PHP Developer
We’re working with a UK-based SaaS company to recruit a PHP Developer to join their in-house team as they expand and evolve their core product.
The business develops an established SaaS platform that is currently desktop-based and predominantly built in PHP. They’re in the middle of a live customer trial, which has slightly shifted development priorities — most notably creating a mobile app version alongside the existing platform.
At present, development is handled by a single, capable developer. As scope and demand increase, the company wants to add support and continuity, rather than introduce a senior layer. As a result, they’re looking for a mid-level or strong junior PHP developer who can work collaboratively and grow with the product.
The Role
You’ll be joining a small, close-knit technical team and will:
- Develop and enhance features within a PHP-based SaaS platform
- Support the build-out of a mobile app experience alongside the existing system
- Work closely with the current developer to share ownership and workload
- Contribute to improving performance, stability, and code quality
- Be involved in shaping the product based on real customer feedback
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working in a hands-on, collaborative environment and wants exposure to a growing SaaS product.
Your Experience
- Commercial experience working with PHP
- Background building or supporting web-based applications
- Comfortable working in a small team without heavy process
- A willingness to learn and adapt as the platform evolves
- Experience with APIs or mobile app development and Familiarity with modern PHP frameworks would be desirable
- Exposure to construction, field-service, or operational software
The client has a strong preference for in-house resource and Ideally, candidates will be based locally to their office near Crawley or able to commute to the office once or twice per week, with flexibility around hybrid working.
The Company
- Join a growing SaaS business at an important stage of its roadmap
- Work closely with an existing developer rather than being siloed
- Gain exposure to both web and mobile development
- Long-term stability with a supportive, pragmatic team
If this sounds like a good fit, apply now or contact us for a confidential discussion.
