IT Test Manager

We are seeking an experienced GIS Test Manager with strong expertise in spatial data platforms such as ArcGIS, ESRI, and Smallworld to lead quality assurance and testing activities across GIS solutions within the utilities sector. The role will focus on defining and executing end-to-end test strategies , managing onsite and offshore test teams , and ensuring that GIS-enabled business systems are delivered to the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities Define and implement comprehensive test strategies for GIS platforms, applications, and spatial data systems.
Lead and manage distributed test teams (onsite and offshore), ensuring clear task allocation, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
Oversee functional, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for GIS projects.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and system interoperability within GIS and enterprise IT environments.
Engage with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to align test plans with project outcomes.
Track and report on test progress, risks, and defect resolution , ensuring transparency and accountability.
Establish and enforce quality assurance processes, test automation frameworks, and best practices .
Provide leadership and mentoring for test analysts, ensuring skills development and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Test Manager / QA Lead in GIS-focused projects.
Strong knowledge of GIS platforms ArcGIS, ESRI suite, Smallworld, and spatial data management tools.
Experience in the utilities sector (water, energy, or infrastructure) with an understanding of asset and spatial data systems.
Expertise in defining and delivering test strategies and plans for large-scale IT/GIS transformation projects.
Hands-on experience with test automation and GIS-specific testing frameworks/tools.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing onsite and offshore teams .
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to align technical testing with business objectives.
Familiarity with industry standards and QA methodologies (ISTQB certification desirable). TPBN1_UKTJ
