NegotiableCowes, EnglandPermanentOur client, is a specialist provider of monitoring solutions used across critical industries worldwide including nuclear, oil & gas, marine and renewables.Their innovative monitoring systems provide real-time insight into asset performance, helping customers improve safety, manage risk and maintain reliable operations.Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint a Commissioning Engineer to join their team based in Cowes, Isle of Wight.This is a hands-on role offering regular UK and international travel, working on cutting-edge monitoring systems across a variety of engineering environments.The RoleAs a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring monitoring systems are successfully installed, configured, tested and handed over to customers.This role is based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight where the client have manufacturing facilities. Whilst here you'll be involved with testing and commissioning of equipment, whilst preparing for UK and international trips to client sites. These sites include a variety of different land based locations and facilities as well as offshore installations. All required training and certification for the role will be provided by the client, but experience of working away often in challenging environments would be advantageous. Key responsibilities include:Commissioning and acceptance testing of monitoring systems both in-house and on customer sitesConfiguring hardware, software, sensors and data acquisition systemsCalibrating and validating load, strain and structural monitoring equipmentDiagnosing and resolving technical faults during commissioning activitiesProducing commissioning reports, documentation and handover packsSupporting installation and project delivery teamsEnsuring all equipment meets quality, safety and customer requirementsRepresenting the business professionally while working on customer sitesAbout YouWe're keen to speak with individuals who have:Essential RequirementsEngineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or equivalent experience)Electrical engineering backgroundUnderstanding of industrial electronics, instrumentation or automation systemsStrong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilitiesGood communication and customer-facing skillsAbility to work independently and manage workload effectivelyWillingness to travel throughout the UK and internationallyComfortable working at height and within confined spaces when requiredDesirable ExperienceCommissioning of industrial systemsInstrumentation and monitoring equipmentData acquisition systemsStructural monitoring, load monitoring or sensor-based technologiesSite installation and testing activities
