You will play a key role in delivering the Connells Group Data Platform, including design, capacity, management and configuration management responsibilities. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be working in a team of technical specialists on a day-to-day basis, liaising with 3rd party providers developing your core skills and expertise whilst maturing the overall processes and procedures in relation to the service. The role also supports the business objectives and strategy through the delivery of secure, supportable and scalable cloud data platforms.Key Responsibilities:Have expertise around the Data Platform capabilityMaintain the Data Platform for all Connells users, managing critical downtime and risk of disruption.To undertake root cause analysis and resolution of incidents.To undertake applicable out-of-hours support as required for operational running.Team Roles and ResponsibilitiesUse of Agile methodologies for platform developmentDeliver Platform as CodeWork within the Cloud Platform design pattern to implement technical and financial observabilityUndertake platform capacity managementSupport projects where appropriateUndertake proactive monitoring and react to escalations from other IT teamsCollaborating with other members of the team.Experience and Skills Required:Essential:Demonstrable experience in similar relevant technical rolesExperience of incident resolution, requests, changes and problem-solving activities delivered to agreed SLAsExperience of implementing Cloud TechnologiesExperience of Microsoft FabricExperience of managing SQL ServerGood team communication, with experiences in sharing and presenting new ideas and approaches with the teamWillingness to learn, adopt and advance best-practices, procedures and qualitative standardsCan operate in a complex environment under pressureAble to operate both with legacy and current technologyAnalytically minded and a strong attention to detailDesirable:Experience of GitHub, Git Actions, Terraform, Platform as Code and Zero Trust architecturesExperience of advanced tools for operational monitoringAbility to operate and influence at all levels within the organisationExperience of tools for Alerting and MonitoringCloud Cost Monitoring and reportingSTEM degree/ postgraduate qualification If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV.
