As part of the team, you’ll collaborate closely with high‐calibre engineers and deeply engaged business and product partners - working together to define and deliver the next generation of Equities technology at Citi.The TeamThe Equity Finance Technology team are seeking a highly motivated software engineer for the Trading application, located in London. The role requires working with technologists across geographical locations and executing on the technical delivery. This role requires strong expertise in Java and the ability to work with traders in building business solutions through agile delivery.Responsibilities:Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standardsProvide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprintUtilise advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementationDevelop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goalsProvide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutionsServe as adviser or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessaryAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications:Proven experience in Apps Development or systems analysis roleExtensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applicationsExperience in managing and implementing successful projectsSubject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications DevelopmentAbility to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictateKey Skills and Experience requiredExtensive development experienceTechnical skills in Java, Kafka, SQL, GitExperience in performing QA, TDD and BDD practicesProven ability to work in high pressure environmentFlexibility to work with a global team, across geographies and time zonesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategicallyFamiliarity with agile methodologies.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectationsAny Beneficial / Nice to have skills and experience: React and full stack developmentKnowledge of Prime Services is a plusBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
