Legal Engineer

Due to growth, the firm is hiring three Legal Engineers, with two aligned to the Transactions practice and one aligned to Disputes.This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing Innovation team at the forefront of legal AI, working alongside some of the most respected Lawyers in the market on complex, high-value matters.Embedded within core practice areas, you will design and build AI-enabled workflows that directly support fee earners, while helping to reimagine how legal work is performed in an AI-first environment.Working with various stakeholders, you will play a central role in shaping how AI is deployed across both transactional and contentious workstreams.Key responsibilities:Partnering with fee earners and knowledge professionals to understand how matters are run and identifying where AI can add tangible valueTranslating legal processes into structured prompts, workflows and reusable playbooksDesigning, building and deploying solutions across leading AI platforms, from rapid prototyping through to production-ready toolsLeading on AI quality, evaluation and benchmarking across the practiceActing as a bridge between legal teams, product, technology and external vendorsEnabling and upskilling knowledge Lawyers and wider teams through training and engagement initiativesIdentifying common solutions across practice areas and driving consistency and scalabilityContributing to wider innovation strategy and firm-wide adoption of new tools and capabilities.Candidate profile:Qualified Lawyer in England and Wales or a comparable jurisdictionTypically 4 to 7 years’ PQE within a leading law firmStrong experience in either Transactions or Disputes, aligned to one of the hiring areasAbility to engage credibly with senior stakeholders on complex legal mattersDemonstrable interest in legal technology and AI, with hands-on experience of leading toolsExperience building or delivering legal-tech solutions such as workflows, playbooks or internal toolsStrong structuring skills with the ability to translate complex legal processes into scalable solutionsClear communicator, comfortable working across legal, technical and product teamsPractical and delivery-focused mindset with a bias towards execution.The firm are offering a competitive salary, excellent benefits package and good scope to progress your career.Location: London/Hybrid WorkingRegion: London (Greater)Country: UKSalary: CompetitiveSpecialisation: Legal Technology & Innovation, Legal TechSector: Law firmRole Position: Legal TechnologyContract Type: PermanentHours: Full TimeExperience Level: Mid Senior Level (3-7+ years)PQE: Non Qualified, 4-6 years, 7+ yearsReference Number: PML-PL-18198
