An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Layout team within the Edinburgh branch of Cirrus Logic for a Layout Design Engineer to help with the implementation and development of layout tools and processes. To be successful in this role you will use your first level layout experience to support design engineers and physical design engineers. You will also be confident in identifying areas for possible improvements and providing input into block/chip level project schedules. In return, you will work in a dynamic, global organisation with a fantastic and innovative work culture!Main Responsibilities: Solving layout design issues and applying proactive interventionProactively work with design engineers to achieve efficient circuit performanceDesign analog & mixed-signal layoutsUnderstand device matching techniquesUnderstand signal conditioning/protection techniquesExcellent collaboration skills, including written and verbal communicationOutstanding layout planning and integration skillsExperience in routing at the block level and chip top-level using assisted/automated toolsRequired Skills and Qualifications: Associate’s degree in electronic / IC layout CAD specialisation or related program and proven experience of IC layout design.Ability to layout analog circuitry in a size/time constrained environmentUnderstand layout techniques such as common centroid, matching, isolation, shielding, and the use of dummy devicesSolid understanding of ESD, Latch-up, STI, WPE, electro-migration, IR drop, cross-coupling capacitance, DFM, and Antenna effectAbility to solve design problems while using a combination of technical skills, intuition, and creativityProficiency in floor planning activities with block assembly, and block-level routingLVS trouble shooting and debug skillsProven track record of working in a fast-paced team-oriented environmentGreat teammate and works well with othersPreferred Skills and Qualifications: BSc Degree in Electronics Engineering or related programComfortable with multiple IC design CAD tools and foundry PDKsDemonstrated ability to contribute ideas for improved efficiency and automation of layout tasksKnowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal fundamentalsThis position is based in our Edinburgh office, UKThis is a hybrid remote position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference.
