Resource Manager

The RoleThe Resource Manager is responsible for the effective allocation, and utilisation of our technical resources to meet business objectives. This role ensures the right people with the right skills are deployed to the right projects at the right time, balancing operational demand with workforce capacity and efficiency.This role is critical to ensuring organisational effectiveness by aligning workforce capability with business demand. The Resource Manager plays a central role in enabling successful delivery through strategic planning, strong stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesResource Planning & AllocationDevelop and maintain resource plans aligned to organisational prioritiesAllocate staff to projects and operational activities based on skills, availability, and business needsContinuously review and adjust allocations to address changing demandsManage conflicts in resource demand and prioritise effectivelyWorkforce ManagementMonitor workforce capacity, utilisation, and productivityIdentify resource gaps, skills shortages, and succession requirementsSupport recruitment planning in collaboration with HR and hiring managersMaintain accurate records of resource availability, skills, and assignmentsStakeholder EngagementPartner with project managers, department heads, and senior leadership to understand resourcing needsProvide advice on workforce planning and resource optimisationAct as the central point of contact for all resourcing queriesTeam CollaborationFoster a supportive and collaborative Resource Team environment where sharing knowledge and helping colleagues is the norm.Encourage joint problem-solving by supporting resourcing challenges, sharing best practice, and seeking diverse perspectives to deliver strong outcomes.Performance & ReportingTrack and report on key resourcing metrics (e.g., utilisation, availability, capacity)Provide insights and recommendations to improve efficiency and deliveryDrive consistency in resource planning practices across teamsIdentify and mitigate risks related to resource constraints and over-allocationKey Skills & ExperienceEssentialProven experience in resource management, workforce planning, or operations managementStrong organisational and planning skills with attention to detailAbility to analyse data and produce meaningful insightsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsExperience using resource planning tools (e.g., MS Project, resource management software such as ProFinda or Retain, Excel)Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentDesirableExperience in National Security or Defence SectorResourcing Management within Technology organisation or Professional Services consultancyKnowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile)Experience with workforce analytics or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)Understanding of HR processes including recruitment and talent planningWhy You Should Join UsWe offer a competitive salary and access to a number of additional flexible benefits, which will cover Health and Wellbeing, Savings and Protection & Life, Leisure and Entertainment.
