Part of the Model, Analytics & Data Risk team, we offer a unique opportunity to engage with senior stakeholders and oversight the full suite of IP&I models across a varied array of propositions, uses, and applications. For example our models range from General Insurance Pricing, to Credit Rating for illiquid assets, via Climate Emissions and SII and include coverage of newer techniques such as AI and machine learning! The world of model risk is evolving at a fast pace and you will be able to shape and contribute to our team’s processes, policies, stakeholder management, and development of supporting systems. No two days are ever the same, and there’s significant opportunity to grow and progress in an encouraging and close-knit team.IP&I Risk is the “second line” for the Insurance Group within the three lines of defence model mandated throughout Lloyds Banking Group. Our focus is to support the Group to succeed by enabling sustainable growth within risk appetite. We achieve this by helping the business to make the right decisions, through providing independent oversight and constructive challenge. Our priorities are aligned with the Group, Risk Division and Insurance Group strategies and values.In this role, your key responsibilities will include:Performing risk-based validations and broader reviews to analyse and assess the effectiveness, adequacy, and maturity of the model controls operating across the businessCreating proposals for strengthening and simplifying the model risk control environmentProviding formal risk opinions to the Executive committees, and detailed briefings to the IP&I Model, Analytics & Data Risk Director and Chief Risk OfficerOffering advice, guidance, and independent challenge to key strategic change initiativesInfluencing delivery and oversighting the embedding of Model Governance, Internal Model Change, and Data Policies in IP&I in line with Group Strategy and Risk AppetiteAnalysing thematic review outcomes to derive insights about, and report on the IP&I Risk and control environmentReviewing and responding to regulatory developments, consultations, and requests for informationSupporting the improvement of model capabilities, and understanding of the wider model landscape, across IP&I RiskKey skills/Capabilities:Qualified actuary with significant experience of model risk management – ideally gained across Line 1 and Line 2 rolesDemonstrate strong analytical skills, with experience in problem solvingExcellent communicator, both written and verbal, capable of engaging openly and with confidence on complex issues through the gathering of appropriate contextBuilding and influencing positive relationships with the business, whilst demonstrating your credibility through the delivery of constructive challengeAbility to work to tight timescales, and multi-task across competing prioritiesA dedication to self-development and keeping knowledge up-to-dateThe ability to interpret complex data flows, model documentation and regulations, and to manage ambiguity and changeDesirable:Experience of working with Prophet, R, Excel, and other model applicationsAppetite for hybrid working, with time split between home and the office, to optimise collaboration with colleagues, focused delivery and learning and development opportunitiesAnd in return.....We’ll recognise and reward your performance.You’ll be offered a competitive package which includes...Salary,Bonus,A generous pension contribution andFlex cash to spend on a host of benefits to suit your lifestyle.Role is available across the UK via LBG various sites.
