This role sits within Technology Delivery and is responsible for enabling a high-performing agile delivery team to deliver valuable outcomes through the effective application of Scrum principles, servant leadership and continuous improvement.Working closely with your Product Owner, wider agile delivery team, key business and delivery stakeholders, you will help your team maximise delivery outcomes, remove impediments, manage dependencies and promote a culture of collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement. You will also ensure operational impacts, risks and dependencies are understood, communicated and effectively managed throughout the delivery lifecycle.On a typical day, you will facilitate Scrum events, coach agile practices and ways of working, monitor delivery performance metrics, support backlog refinement activities, remove delivery blockers, communicate delivery risks and progress, and work with stakeholders to ensure sustainable and effective delivery. Ultimately, you will use your delivery-focused mindset to help the team succeed, adapting your approach to meet the needs of the team and the challenges they face. You will also collaborate with other Scrum Masters to drive consistency in agile ways of working across Technology.The role of Scrum Master will include:Providing Scrum Master services to an existing agile delivery team, helping them to continue to embrace Scrum principles, practices and values, and ensuring the team performs at its highest levelFacilitating all Scrum events with clear outcomes, ensuring they are purposeful, effective and support strong team collaborationIdentifying and removing team-level impediments while proactively managing risks and issues that could impact deliveryDriving team effectiveness and accountability by improving delivery predictability, throughput and flow of workSupporting backlog refinement and readiness activities to ensure value-driven delivery and well-defined acceptance criteria. Defining and tracking team delivery metrics, providing meaningful insights that support continuous improvement and reporting. Facilitating effective retrospectives that promote open reflection, continuous learning and measurable improvement actionsBuilding and developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and timely updates on progress, risks and dependenciesWorking with other Scrum Masters and the Agile Delivery Lead to promote consistent agile practices and effectively manage cross-team dependencies and risksPromoting Agile values and behaviours, fostering psychological safety, collaboration and a culture of continuous improvement across teamsSkills and experiences:Able to demonstrate possession of a degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualificationScrum Master qualificationComprehensive experience as a Scrum Master within enterprise environmentsSignificant experience of coaching teams to greater agilityProven experience of metrics definition and collectionSignificant experience facilitating backlog refinementSignificant experience using management tools, particularly Jira and ConfluenceSignificant experience unblocking impediments within a corporate environmentProven experience leading, motivating and serving high-performing teamsProven ability to improve team performanceSignificant experience in stakeholder management, including facilitating workshops and interviewsExcellent communication, negotiation, presentation and stakeholder management skillsProven servant leader who balances team empowerment with a pragmatic focus on delivery outcomesWhy work for us We provide homes and care for more than 250,000 people in England and Scotland.
