Senior Software Developer

As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), you will play a key role in designing and building scalable, cloud-based services using Java and Spring Boot. You’ll work closely with your manager, architecture team and teammates to deliver high-quality backend systems that power critical business functionality.In this role, you are expected to lead by example through strong technical execution, thoughtful system design, and a commitment to engineering excellence. As a senior engineer you will contribute to architectural decisions, mentor other engineers, and help drive continuous improvement across the team.What You’ll DoDesign, build, and maintain robust backend services using Java and Spring BootCollaborate with your manager, business units and peers to deliver features on time and aligned with business prioritiesContribute to system design and architecture discussions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainabilityWrite clean, efficient, and well-tested code, and participate actively in code reviewsHelp break down complex problems into actionable technical solutionsPartner with product and cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate them into technical implementationsMentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning, ownership, and accountabilityIdentify and address technical debt while balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term platform healthSupport production systems, including troubleshooting issues and participating in on-call rotations as neededContribute to improving engineering processes, tools, and best practicesWhat We're Looking For5–8+ years of professional software development experienceStrong hands-on experience building backend systems using Java and Spring BootExperience designing and implementing distributed systems or service-oriented architecturesSolid understanding of RESTful APIs and backend service design principlesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex technical challengesEffective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teamsProven track record of delivering high-quality, production-ready softwareNice to HaveExperience with AI-based software engineering including agent-based development, assisted/automated code reviews, etc.Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or AzureExperience with microservices and event-driven architecturesFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practicesExperience with performance optimization, scalability, and reliability engineeringPrior experience mentoring or leading other engineersExposure to observability tools, monitoring, and on-call practicesWhy Aristocrat Aristocrat is a world leader in gaming content and technology, and a top-tier publisher of free-to-play mobile games.
