In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth within the public sector by identifying new opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and delivering high-value storage solutions tailored to complex customer needs.This is a strategic, customer-facing role where you’ll work closely with account teams, partners, and industry experts to build pipeline, influence senior stakeholders, and close impactful deals.What You’ll Be DoingIdentify, develop, and close new business opportunities within the public sectorBuild and manage a strong sales pipeline, aligned with account strategiesDevelop pursuit plans and collaborate closely with account managersEstablish trusted, consultative relationships with customers, including C-level stakeholdersPosition solutions effectively by maintaining strong knowledge of competitors and market trendsLead or support proposals, negotiations, and deal closuresProvide technical expertise and support during customer engagementsDrive renewals and expansion opportunities within mid-sized, complex accountsWork with internal teams and external partners to design and deliver tailored solutionsSupport sales readiness and knowledge transfer across teamsAccurately manage forecasting and opportunity tracking using CRM toolsWhat We’re Looking ForExperience & QualificationsBachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experienceTypically 5–8 years of advanced sales experience, ideally within public sector storage, or enterprise ITProven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targetsStrong experience working within a specific industry vertical (defence preferred)Skills & ExpertiseDeep knowledge of storage solutions, IT infrastructure, and related servicesStrong understanding of the public sector and its unique challengesAbility to position complex, high-value solutions in a consultative mannerExcellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skillsExperience taking deals through the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting to closeAbility to translate technical solutions into clear business valueStrong collaboration skills across sales, technical, and partner teamsExperience working with CRM tools (e.g. Siebel) and maintaining accurate forecastingWhat Makes You Stand OutDemonstrated success in specialist or overlay sales rolesStrong ability to prospect within accounts and uncover new opportunitiesExperience working with partners and channels to drive joint successA proactive, self-driven mindset with strong prioritisation skillsAbility to operate in complex, matrixed environmentsWhy Join Us Work on high-impact projects within the public sector spaceBe part of a collaborative, expert-driven sales environmentOpportunity to shape large, strategic deals and customer outcomesClear opportunities for career growth and developmentAccessibilityHPE is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including those with disabilities.
