Job DescriptionThe Senior Technical Business Analyst is responsible for bridging business needs with technical solutions by analysing systems, defining requirements, and driving process and system improvements. This role requires strong technical understanding to support solution design, system integrations, and collaboration with development teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and prioritise requirements, translating them into detailed functional and technical specificationsIdentify opportunities for process improvement, system optimisation, and automationPerform root cause analysis and lead workshops to define business and system requirementsProduce high-quality documentation, including:Functional SpecificationsTechnical RequirementsProcess Flows / Data Mapping DocumentsWork closely with engineering and architecture teams to define solution design and ensure feasibilitySupport system integration efforts, including APIs, data flows, and third-party systemsEnsure alignment between business expectations and technical delivery throughout the project lifecycleValidate solutions, ensuring they are fit for purpose and technically soundSupport UAT planning and execution, ensuring requirements are fully met before releaseAssist in release planning and cutover activities, minimizing business disruptionDrive delivery within tight timelines, ensuring effective cross-team collaborationCommunicate effectively with stakeholders across business and IT at all levelsThis role requires eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance. To be eligible, you must have the right to work in the UK and will have resided in the UK for at least 5 years.QualificationsExperience & Skills RequiredExperience as a Senior Business Analyst, with significant exposure to technical environments, working to the GOV.UK Service Standard or within the public sectorStrong experience in writing detailed functional and technical specificationsProven experience working on system implementations, integrations, or digital transformation initiativesHands-on experience or strong understanding of:SQL / Data AnalysisAPIs and system integrationsData modelling / data mappingSolid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary team including User Centred Design colleagues.
