Technical Lead Hybrid – Attached to our Solihull, London or Hook office Full Time, Permanent Band 3 / 75,000 - 85,000 (dependent on experience) Here at Serco, we're looking for a Technical Lead specialising in Microsoft technologies to provide technical leadership across a portfolio of digital products and platforms. You'll play a key role in designing, delivering and evolving secure, scalable cloud-based solutions using the Microsoft technology stack, helping to drive engineering excellence across our digital services.This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll work across multidisciplinary teams, providing architectural guidance, mentoring engineers and ensuring solutions are built to the highest standards. You'll help shape technical direction, modernise platforms and deliver business-critical digital services that create real value for our customers.As part of this you’ll:Lead the design and technical delivery of Microsoft-based digital solutions across cloud, integration and business applicationsProvide hands-on technical leadership to engineering teams, promoting best practice in software engineering and solution designDesign scalable, secure and maintainable solutions using Microsoft Azure and the wider Microsoft ecosystemGuide development across technologies including Azure, Power Platform, Dynamics 365 and Microsoft integration servicesWork closely with Product Managers, Architects, Delivery Managers and Business Analysts to shape technical solutionsEnsure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards and governance requirementsDrive engineering excellence across CI/CD, automation, testing, observability and DevOps practicesLead technical reviews, design assurance and code quality activitiesMentor engineers and support the development of technical capability across teamsSupport the adoption of emerging Microsoft technologies, including AI capabilities where they provide clear business valueWhat you’ll need to do the role:Proven experience leading engineering teams delivering Microsoft cloud and enterprise solutionsStrong technical expertise across Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architectureExperience delivering solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BIExperience with Dynamics 365, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management or related Microsoft services would be advantageousStrong programming experience in technologies such as C#, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python and SQLExperience designing and delivering APIs, integrations and event-driven architecturesStrong knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep), automated testing and GitExperience working with modern engineering practices, secure development and cloud governanceAbility to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutionsStrong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiencesExperience leading cross-functional teams within Agile delivery environmentsDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experienceMicrosoft Azure or Power Platform certifications are desirableSC clearance (or willingness to obtain it)What we offer:Company car5% on target bonus schemePrivate medical insuranceFlexible working consideredPension – 6%Chance to contribute to innovation in the public servicesA company passionate about diversity and inclusionSerco discounts which include cinema, merlin entertainment and online shopping discounts, and discounts on mobile phone plans and leisure centre memberships.A range of benefits to support the health and wellbeing of you and your family such as Employee Assistance Programme, Simply Health Cash Plans, and more.A wealth of career development training to suit your future aspirations.
