Applause IT are recruiting for a VoIP Systems Engineer on behalf of an innovative European technology company delivering connected communication and healthcare technology solutions.
This is a remote UK-based role where you’ll work closely with internal engineering teams and external partners to configure, test and support VoIP and IP-based communication systems, ensuring integrations operate reliably and meet certification standards.
The role combines VoIP systems engineering, network troubleshooting and partner integrations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across both technical problem-solving and collaborative technical delivery.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Configuring, maintaining and testing VoIP and IP-based communication systems
- Supporting partner environments including servers, SIP trunks and device integrations
- Troubleshooting network and integration issues using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump and packet capture
- Supporting partner onboarding and certification processes
- Leading technical testing sessions and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with partners
- Producing clear technical documentation and system configuration guidance
- Working closely with development teams to provide feedback on product improvements
- Supporting integration and installation projects with technology partners
The role involves working with partners across multiple countries, so strong communication and collaboration skills are important.
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for an engineer with strong VoIP and networking fundamentals. Experience in some of the following areas would be beneficial:
- VoIP / SIP communications systems
- IP networking and troubleshooting
- Packet capture and network traffic analysis (Wireshark, tcpdump)
- System log analysis and monitoring tools
- Integration protocols such as REST APIs or XML
- Microsoft server environments and cloud platforms such as Azure
- Supporting or integrating IP-based communication platforms
Experience working with partner integrations, telecom platforms or certification processes would be advantageous.
