National Security Customer Lead - Existing eDV Required
Applied Talent Solutions is supporting a confidential client on a high-trust commercial hire in the Cheltenham National Security market.
This is a rare opportunity for someone who already has credibility in this space, understands how National Security stakeholders buy, and can turn that understanding into real commercial momentum.
You will be responsible for opening new conversations, building senior relationships, shaping opportunities and creating growth in an environment where trust, judgement and relevance matter more than volume. This is a role for someone who can operate with confidence in a complex market and build traction where there is not always an established footprint.
This is not a generic account management role. It is not service delivery, PMO, customer success, or soft relationship management with no revenue edge. It is a commercial leadership role for someone who can open new stakeholder groups, expand into new areas, support renewals and growth, and help shape propositions around real client need.
What you’ll be doing
You will own senior client engagement across the National Security space, with responsibility for:
- building and deepening trusted stakeholder relationships
- identifying and shaping new opportunities
- opening new areas of work and new stakeholder access
- supporting renewals, continuation and expansion where appropriate
- helping frame propositions in a way that is commercially sharp and client-relevant
- building credible pipeline traction in the Cheltenham market
Success in the first six months is likely to look like meaningful conversations with new stakeholders, qualified opportunity development and clear commercial momentum - not empty activity or vague relationship management.
What they need
To be considered, you must already hold active UK eDV clearance. This is a hard requirement.
You will also need:
- direct experience working with National Security clients
- real evidence of net new business, new-area penetration, growth, renewals or expansion
- a strong track record of personal contribution, not just team association
- experience shaping propositions and positioning offers around client problems
- the maturity to operate as an autonomous senior individual contributor
- a credible Cheltenham location story, or a practical recurring commute for routine on-site presence
Likely backgrounds
This role is likely to suit someone currently operating as a:
- Client Partner
- Account Director
- Customer Lead
- Business Development Director
- Business Development Manager
- Capture Manager
- Pursuits Lead
- Engagement Director
- Consulting Director
- Growth Lead
The strongest candidates will be able to show that they do more than manage incumbent relationships. They will know how to define a client problem, adapt their approach, translate complexity, and create outcomes in an environment that does not always come with a tidy playbook.
Package
- Base of up to £80,000. Some potential flex is there if you're the identified candidate
- 20% bonus
- 10% pension
- hybrid working with regular presence in the Cheltenham area required
Important note
Please apply only if you currently hold active UK eDV clearance.
Applications from candidates with SC only, CTC only, DV in process, previously held clearance, or candidates unable to validate clearance discreetly will not be considered.
