Lead Software Engineer

Lead PHP Developer / Tech Lead required for an expanding business with global platforms, offering Hybrid Working, paying up to £73K + Bonus + strong Pension + excellent benefits package.

This is a hybrid working setup; initially you'll be office based once a week or fortnight, with increased remote working as you settle into the role and begin delivering.

As this is a key Tech Lead role within the business, it's important you're comfortable being in the office when required; whether that's leadership meetings or interviewing for your team. It will always be with purpose, so Manchester based availability is essential.

As Lead PHP Developer / Tech Lead, you'll need to be strong in PHP, Laravel and AWS, ideally with solid experience in Serverless Architecture / AWS Lambda.

PHP / Laravel / AWS will be your bread and butter, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, well-tested, well-structured solutions, and driving these best practices across your direct team.

This role is roughly 30% hands-on development and 70% leadership and architectural solutions, working closely alongside a very impressive architecture team.

Each Tech Lead heads up a Tribe focused on its own domain; current domains include Booking and Search, therefore any experience within eCommerce, particularly bookings and/or search-led platforms, would be highly beneficial.

Tech Summary:

  • PHP development with strong knowledge of design patterns - SOLID / DRY
  • Laravel
  • Strong experience building APIs
  • Enterprise scale AWS, with the opportunity to work heavily in Serverless Architecture
  • Testing: unit, automated and API
  • Ongoing investment in IaC (Terraform), CI/CD, and event-driven architecture

This is a highly appealing opportunity to work on large-scale, international, greenfield platforms, using modern and in-demand technologies, including sought after AWS serverless tech.
